Everything really clicked together last night. My Zum sounded absolutely spectacular. I hit every note, that, my mind was contemplating a split second before playing it and I played licks and phrases I haven't played in a long time. This band I'm playing with plays in different places all the time and the steel never quite sounds perfect to me, but, last night was ideal. It's really a challenge to get the right sound all the time, fighting with acoustics and weather, it's never the same. It put new life into my playing. I only hope the 2 gigs today will be as fruitfull and inspiring.

John, you need to find some way to bottle that! Then on days when things are a little "off" you could pour a little back out.

Yeah, I hear you Don. Sundays two gigs were pretty good for sound, too. It's so hard to get it right a lot of the time, when, you're playing in so many different places. Every place is a sound challenge and I want it to sound perfect for me. I guess I have OCD when it comes to that.

Hey Ken,
Good to see you posting! I've got an unbelievable story to tell by the end of this week about Jabby's. I'm sure you'll get a kick out of it.

John, it's great to hear that you're playing and enjoying it. I know what you mean about "hit or miss" on some gigs. That happens to me a lot too. Sometimes I think it's mostly our own perception of the sound, and the listeners are not as critical as we are. This Saturday night I'm up in Sand Lake NY. Gotta love those summer gigs!
