Most likely, that July 12, 2008 APHC was a compilation of previous shows. Normally, APHC is in re-run mode after July 4. Just sayin'. |

| I wouldn't even pretend to know what Buddy does in his spare time, but here is a tidbit of info. A couple of years ago I ordered some strings from Sid Hudson and he is the one who answered the phone and took the order. So we chatted a few minutes about Buddy and how he is doing. Apparently Sid sees Buddy now and then and attemts to pick up a few new licks from the Master. According to Sid, and I am paraphrasing, Buddy can still "tear your head off" on steel. I tend to believe Sid is telling the truth. |

I recently saw and old video of Emmons playing finger harmonics with his left thumb and little finger simultaneously at the 12th and seventh
frets. I don't remember where it is. Can you help? |

I think you're referring to the tune where Buddy used his index and pinky finger. It's in the video linked below. I don't recall off hand where it is in the video. The whole thing is fun to watch, though...

| I think I might know the last session he did. A great country-hillbilly singer named Dave Peterson made an indie album a few years back called "Comin' On Strong". Dave just kills with his voice and knows everything about all that old country (and bluegrass) music. The steel players on his album were John Hughey and Paul Franklin. (Dave doesn't even have a record deal, and these guys were happy to play - that's how good he is.) As I remember the story, Paul had to miss one of the sessions and asked Buddy to sub for him. He left Buddy a phone message promising that he could play real, true country steel and that if he wanted, he could "play like Noel Boggs". Pretty soon Paul gets a call and the voice on the line says, "Noel BOGGS??" That did the trick apparently and Buddy plays beautiful steel on Dave's version of "Family Bible". |

He did a brilliant job(as usual),to say the least...as did Mssrs.Hughey and Franklin...
Everyone on this forum should own a copy of DP's album...
The people who complain about"no good new country"should be first in line...
If you can't find one,let me know...DP is a friend and we pick together sometimes...
