I think in the future all music, etc... will be in the cloud and you will be able to access it directly to your brain. Possibly need to have some type of interface chip installed. |

You would be surprised at the amount of pop, pop, crackle, crackle can be found on cd's. Run one thru a good noise reduction program and it will amaze you how many pop's etc. it has removed.
Records that have been cared for and played on a good player with a good needle are not overly noisy. Worst thing for them is fingerprints so handle them by the edges only. |
I never said that CDs are better. Digital sound files (i.e. wave files) are far superior to vinyl records, magnetic tape, and compact discs. We now live in an era where recorded music can be played on machinery with no moving parts. _________________ Sho-Bud Pro III + Marshall JMP 2204 half stack = good grind! |

Vinyl is making a somewhat comeback. Many new Albums are being put out in Vinyl. Many consider Analog and Vinyl recordings superior to Digital. Many recording studios have some analog (tape) recording capability. |

I don't miss the late 1970s. That was a time when musicians used very expensive equipment to make high quality recordings. There's no way I could afford access to 24 track reel to reel recorders, Neumann U47 mics, a mixer the size of a pool table, and an engineer who knows how to use that stuff. There's also no way I could afford to release vinyl versions of any of my albums.
The only problem I see with recordings nowadays is that some of the newer bands jack up the volume and use compression during mixdown. That is a problem with production, not the technology. _________________ Sho-Bud Pro III + Marshall JMP 2204 half stack = good grind! |
