Hey guys.. Ive been watching a few videos on youtube of david hartley and i noticed he uses some type of software that allows him to play along to songs with his steel.. that would be pretty handy to have to help learn solos etc... its like a karaoke machine for steel guitar. if any of you know what this is or how to get it please help me out here.. Thanks!

Sounds like Band-in-a-Box. See the whole forum section of the same name. Available lots of places including Amazon.

There are also places that sell practice backing tracks.
Mike Headrick has some good ones. He's at www.mikeheadrick.com
If you want blues ones, www.probluesjamtracks.com has several you can play free from the web.
