I'd definitely have that in my bag of gadgets if I was still gigging. That sounds amazing! _________________ Best regards,

I would love to hear a demo with a steel guitar (given the extra sustain possible)
I bet it would require some careful attention to picking, blocking and bar vibrato.
The guitarist was using very precise fingering and some open strings in the demo. And the sound cuts off the instant the string stops vibrating. This would make some changes in playing style necessary.

Nice find Gordon! Seems to combine the rotating effect and organ tone generator into one box! Like buying a Pog and a Leslie box. |

It's funny---I've worked on technique & gear to get me close enough to enjoy myself (although I sold my Pog--just didn't like it). This is so good that I almost resist it as too good.
The separate guitar level control is very cool. Brings a lot of versatility.
I agree with Dom--I'm interested in how it handles bending, sliding, pedaling and bad intonation. Not only will that spoil the organ effect; it might sound glitchy.
The thing really tracks well, though. Doesn't it? |

...I just looked at Musician's Friend, Sweetwater, and American Musical......none have as far as I can tell. I'll have to go look at the video site and see where you can get it... |

It's available as a pre-sell for $220 on a few sites. I gave up on the POG as well. The POG required the addition of a leslie sim to be complete and that turned into a kluge. |

Wow. Been a long time since I was knocked over by ANY piece of equipment. Trolling the internet shows everybody can't wait to get one.
I'm thinking Electro Harmonix just might have hit a home run with this baby. |

I'm definitely excited. I think I'll wait till I can order it from the US though. It sounds really awesome on the Youtube video, but doesn't everything? _________________ '02 Carter S-12 uni

This just wowed me too much. So, I pulled the trigger and pre-ordered one through Sweetwater Music, a big music catalog and retail outlet in Indiana. (Sweetwater.com) About $220 or so with free shipping. Delivery next week or thereabouts. Fine by me. |

Organ tones are pretty nice for sure. I didn't hear any authentic leslie/rotary sounds (unless I missed them in the demo)
but I have the Strymon Lex for that anyway. |

Thanks for posting this Gordon, very cool pedal. I got a Pog2 not to long ago and a digital leslie pedal from Hammond. Although the pog2 sounds pretty good, it makes me wish I would of waited a little longer, I would of probably gone with the b9 organ instead of the pog2. I'm getting a kick out of getting these organ effects out of the steel. Gunna give this pedal a try and see how it is compared to the Pog2. |

Yes, this really sounds good.
Can you just imagine Buddy playing around with this new
toy for a couple of days then just cutting loose with it
- man I would love to see/hear that!!

You can hear the Leslie effects. He may not have the speed cranked up to where you (or me) like it. He should have demonstrated that. They sound good enough to me to use as an effect on stage. I had a Pog2 and a Rotochoir rotating speaker pedal. While that combination worked fair good, I couldn't stand having to step on 2 pedals to get the organ/leslie sound. I ended up keeping the Rotochoir and dumping the Pog2. If you want it to 100% authentic, hire a keyboard player.
Oh, and the question about it handling bend, if you watch him carefully, he actually bends string a little bit and it tracks them well. Of course, he's not bending a half or whole tone like we would. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . very compelling demo. I do wonder what it does with a steel guitar. |

You think that's somethin'.... I heard that EHX is coming out
with a pedal that makes an organ sound just like a steel guitar! _________________ Straight Ahead 500 watt mini~power amp |

I wonder if it would make a cheap keyboard sound just like a B3. That way the guitar-induced artifacts should go away.
Has anybody tried it this way? _________________ Excel D10 8&4, Supro 8, Regal resonator, Peavey Powerslide, homemade lap 12(a work in progress) |

Good question Paul. I don't think they have delivered any of these to stores yet. People are having to "pre-order" them. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I just read the blurb. They claim " the B9 Organ Machine will transform your guitar or keyboard" so I guess it's supposed to. Sounds like a lot of fun and more portable than a B3. _________________ Excel D10 8&4, Supro 8, Regal resonator, Peavey Powerslide, homemade lap 12(a work in progress) |
