Mine is "Tribute to Hank Williams" by Tim Hardin. The chorus goes "Goodbye Hank Williams my friend..... I didn't know you... but I've been to places.. you've been".

"When You Leave Don't Slam the Door" by Tex Ritter. We had it as a 78 when my brother and I were little. I loved that song. Either me or my brother sat on it and broke it. I don't think I've heard it since.

Merle's "Silver Wings" would be close.

Wow, I have no idea where to start because there are so many great country songs. I remember, as a kid, one of my all-time favorite songs was The Judds "Grandpa", which Sonny Garrish played steel on. I'm also a Lorrie Morgan fan, so any song of hers is a favorite of mine. One of my favorite songs from recent years is "I Run To You" by Lady Antebellum-no steel in the song, but the lyrics are awesome! I love 26 Cents" by the Wilkinsons, and any song Danni Leigh sings. George Jones' songs "Walk Through This World With Me", "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes" and "He Stopped Loving Her Today" also come to mind. And of course, anything by Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Waylon, and Willie are favorites too

At the moment, "Home Sweet Home (revisited)" on Steve Young's "Renegade Picker" album, written by Rodney Crowell. Strangely, the only song on that album without lots of pedal steel...

Hard to pick just one, but I'll go with Merle Haggard's "Big City".

You knew it was going to be a Hag tune. Wink

To me as a foreigner who grew up many moons ago in a far away continent---

Hello Mary Lou and San Antone Rose, all played with pedal steel.

Let the games begin and make more, don't waste time!

Muttering

Today it's "Sing Me Back Home" by Merle Haggard.
Tomorrow it could be something else.
