I believe that all of the Buck Owens Ranch shows that are commercially available are on youtube. I don't know why the Crystal Palace doesn't make other episodes available. I had emailed Terry Christopherson a few years ago asking if any other episodes were going to be made available and he replied that there were no plans at the time to release any more videos. There's lots of good music, I love Don and Buck's harmony. To me, listening to Buck without Don was like watching color Andy Griffith shows with Warren instead of Barney. It's ok, but it's just not the same. Also take a look at a couple screen caps of Tom Brumley.

Those shows are great. I'd really like to see other shows Bud Mathis was producing/promoting from that time, like the Country Social.

There was nothing bad about other lineups, but there was a great magic with the Carnegie Hall lineup of Buckaroos. Willy Cantu had a great open sound that let the other instruments breath more.

Do ya notice how Tom sits at his steel?
His right knee sticks out in front of the
guitar. I never noticed that before.

What a great show, thanks for posting. Made me smile and think back to the days when this was new. Just wonderful.

From what I understand there are quite a few of those Buck owens episodes. I wanna say I have heard there are 400 if all of them are still in existence but could be wrong. There are several on youtube but it would be cool to see them on RFD or something one day. At one time a few were available on dvd but not in order.

There were quite a few shows that were recorded during the late 1960s and early 70s. . However, Buck Owens' Crystal Palace for several years only sold 3 or 4 DVDs with just 2 or 3 episodes on each. What you can find on youtube, were the ones that were available on the Crystal Palace website. That's why I had emailed Terry, Bucks long time guitar/steel player who, at the time, was the manager at the Crystal Palace asking if any more episodes were available to purchase. He just simply told me that there wasn't any plans at that time to offer additional dvds.

I think there is a copyright issue that has to be attended to with featured artist in order to release more episodes.

I love all the re-releases of the old shows, no matter if it is Buck, the Wilburns, Porter Wagoner etc. Those were the days when always featured the instrumentalists. Tom, Curly, Hal...those were the days!

Kind Regards, Walter
