In the thread about Weldon stories, someone mentioned him pulling a golf cart behind his Corvette. How many of us are also into America's Sports car?

My first car ever was a '59 Vette, followed by a '67 and a couple others. I owned several older ones until about 1976 when the family, house and kids thing dictated otherwise.

Now I have owned a '92 for 6 years, the wife and I have visited 20 states in it ranging from Maine to Texas and Montana.

Steel is a bad enough addiction, who else is doubly hooked by owning a Vette also?

I've owned a 60', 62', 63', 66'.
I have an 07', bought new and enjoy driving it immensely. I think Vettes are as addictive as the pedal steel is. At least to me, anyway. I never knew Weldon owned a Vette and of course, I could never compare my steel playing to his, but, at least I own a Vette as he did. That's one thing we had in common.

not today..I passed the torch to my daughter. She has a mint Black 94 with 40,000 miles, I'm now a JEEP guy ! I have owned many Vettes and now have been Vetteless for about 2 years. last one was a Black 01 Z06..Rocket Ship....first one was a 66 Roadster in 75 or so...had many in between, who knows, may get another. I would never pass up a great car for a good deal, especially another C5 / Z06, maybe an 04...

I sold my Harley Soft-Tail a few months ago and bought a very sharp metallic red 92 Corvette from one of my students. I had some work to do on it but I sure get a kick out of driving it. I am "transformed" back to my youthful days when I had a Chevrolet Impala SS 409 (actually 3 of them in succession). I have had to buy another Steelers Choice seat and another Hilton pedal so I can leave a complete set-up on the "Little O' Oprey" stage since I have very little room in the Corvette for any gear. Just drive up to West Fork in my red bomb, go in the stage door and flip the power strip on and ready to flip on the Strobo-flip, trim up the tuning on the black 81' push pull and I am ready to go.

Here is a photo of my "Gig Bag Hauler". I think that makes it relevant to the steel guitar subject. Smile Yeah Jim, I think that should count.

Just today i traded in an oil leakin, gas guzzling, pre historic pickup for a 2010 Toyota Corolla. No Vette to be sure. But I'm pretty happy. Packed up all my stuff in it and heading out to my Saturday nite gig now.

I always thought I wanted a Corvette until I got a chance to sit in one. At 6'2" it was a long way down into the seat and I then I had to hold my head sideways to keep it from hitting the roof.

I had an Opel GT one time. Does that count? This
picture is not mine. I had a black one, not quite
as clean as this one, and it had too many electrical
problems so I sold it.

Try 6'5", and 325 lbs. I'd love to own one, though...But I can't afford to go try 'em on....

They call it the "FICO" method - Fall In, Climb Out!

Jerry, thanks. That sinkhole that developed inside the Corvette Museum was a scary thing to see. Thank goodness my 94 ZR1 has been out of there for a few years. However, one of my previously owned "Vettes", an 88 Lingenfelter roadster once set in the exact spot where that 93 anniversary model fell into the hole.

I wrecked a friends 68 one time. Fiberglass breaks like an egg. Nobody hurt, we were fortunate.

I've got one.

It's a chevette. Another 38 payments and that sweet ride is all mine. All the babes (at the nursing home) really dig it . I wish I has got it sooner, total chick magnet.

Weldon took me for a ride in his Vette right after he bought it. Very nice ride and something he had always wanted. I am glad he had many years of enjoyment. Never had the desire for one until the 2014 model came out. My wish is for one in the shade of blue like Bob's. I bought a new Cadillac CTS instead.

Doggone Bob, what could convince somebody to part with that beauty? The buyer looks to be getting a fantastic ride!
