This guitar is from the first batch of Variax guitars that Line6 produced. I was sold on the concept and pre-ordered one in 2002. It emulates many popular electric and acoustic guitars. I've never gigged with it, but I've used it on some of my home recordings. It shows very little wear.

The "gig bag" case that came with it was garbage, so I just this week bought a new Guitar Center hard case for safe transport. Included is the power supply, junction box, and Planet Waves cable as shown.

Price is $450 plus UPS shipping from Cloverdale, CA.

I can send the full resolution pictures via email to serious buyers.

One odd thing. The 5 position switch that switches between 5 similar models in a group, seems to have been installed upside down (according to the manual). Or maybe the manual writer was looking at it from the other side. It works fine, it's just that position 5 has the model documented as position 1. Sort of quirky. I got used to it.

The headstock is a very glossy black. It was hard to photograph. Mr. Green

A couple of years later, Line6 created a cheaper model called the Variax 300. They re-christened this model as the Variax 500. But when this particular guitar was was made, there was no model designation. It was simply the "Line6 Variax".

Before you ask, I'm sure that the reso models will fall short of your expectations in the studio. They might be okay on stage.

I used a couple of the Martin guitars and the Goldtop Les Paul on recordings with good results. I'm not much of a guitarist, but the Variax has served me well whenever when I needed a guitar sound in my home studio. I'm just selling it to pay for something else I bought recently.
