I've got a Mullen S10 that fret board is beginning to delaminate. I can pull up on the board 5 or 6 inches from the tail end of the guitar. I want reglue it back down. I know formica when new is usually glued to a wood substrate with White glue (PVA) But certain conditions have got to be met. I was thinking of CA glue( crazy gue) because of the Quick dry and less clamp time. Has anyone tried this or have an opinion?

Check out a lot of answers before you try this...... Certain glues WILL dampen the tone,sustain,and overall sound of the axe.
Check with a professional (builder) before you do this.

| Terry, Contact Mullen, I assume it's the metal fretboard that has come loose. They would certaintly know the best "fix". |

When I worked in a Formica shop, we used contact cement exclusively. Of course, we were building countertops......I can see Bill's point about damping. |

We are both right. Depending on the situation high pressure laminates can be glued with contact cement (usually when presses are not involved) or White glue (PVA) when longer even pressure is applied by a hot or cold press. The advice about talking to Mullen, which I did, is will spoken.

Larry,
No, I have sold Franklin glue (PVAs ie. Hightack, Titebond etc. for Twenty two years. I have many guitar accounts like Taylor, Fender, Ernie Ball and others that use Franklin. But I do not have a Pedal Steel guitar Account. Franklin up until recently did not make a contact cement. That
product is in a different division so my knowledge is not as good as some...!Anyway because I had some pedal issues I sent the guitar back to Mullen for service and repair. I must say the service at Mullen has been Awesome and people freindly.
