Hi Gregg, this looks super cool.

Where is the best place to get the rest of the parts? StewMac?

Also, how does one select a finish for this guitar? Can I just go to Ace Hardware and get a 20 oz can of something that looks like "a good color"?

I'd love to take on a project like this, but I'm afraid I'd ruin the wood and end up with a bunch of cheap parts.

I'm afraid. That's probably 98% of the problem, right there.

I recommend getting all the actual resonator hardware from Beard Guitars (Resophonic Outfitters) and the tuners and inlays from Stew Mac. I include a list of the parts needed and part #'s and where to get them.

Finishes: There are several ways you can do this from staining/lacquer topcoating to rubbing on a simple Tru-oil finish. That would be up to whatever you decide is best for you.

If someone were to follow your assembly instructions to the letter, approximately how much money would they have invested at the end? (I realize there are exceptions to how much things cost, sometimes.)

And thanks for answering my questions so quickly. Smile

It would depend quite a bit on whether they used import parts or the more expensive chrome plated brass parts as well as what brand of tuners they used.
