800.00 Selling my first lap steel, a Remington S-8 22 1/2 scale. I made some changes over the years.
First I had a custom PU made by Seymour Duncan, I asked for an 8 pole no-hum tele PU, that is why it is angled rather than straight across like a Stringmaster. Put a Fender style metal fretboard from Jim Palenscar. Added an old Emmons keyhead that was made for kluson tuners, I machined the roller part down to hold a bar for the nut.
I painted it myself. Turned out ok. Made a few mistakes but it is pretty smooth for the most part. I had too much paint and clear coat build up (lots of coats) so when I put the leg sockets back in they chipped the paint off around the edges of the holes. So, rather than start all over, I felted the bottom so I wouldn't have to look at the chips. A ding on the bottom edge and a couple of cracks as the paint shrank.
The PU cavity plate cover was not a good fit when I bought it, I never got around to making a better one.

The guitar case is a gun case, fits nice. The leg case is a heavy duty leg case I make and sell on my lap steel stand website.

I really dig the look of this steel! An upgrade to the stock look IMHO.

Thanks...I like to make improvements unless its a vintage instrument. I don't expect to get the sweat equity out of it, just fun........
