Greg Leisz is one of the world's greatest players, no doubt. And I'm sure the Milkman amp and the Williams guitar are superb tools. But distorted pedal steel is just wrong, no matter who is playing... Your mileage may vary... |

I guess my mileage varies. I think that sounds terrific. Another fine tonal nuance to add to the incredible palette of tonal colors. |

Sounds great. I really like the sound. Is the overdrive coming from the amp cranked or is he using a pedal.
I know the guy on the couch is feeling it. |

Not to hijack the thread but I saw Greg playing with Bill Frissell last week in Denton, TX and was blown away by the interplay between them. The musicality was off the chart.
Seeing players of that level from ten feet away was a incredible. He was playing the same Williams 12-spring as in the video. _________________ It's only a flesh wound! |

"A Way to Survive" it was not. That's for sure.
I thought it sounded great. I have seen Greg play live several times, including with Bill Frisell. What I like about a lot of his playing is that at times you can sort of forget the instrument he is on and just hear the music.
And the Milkman is a 20- watter? Very nice.
Anybody know what kind of bar Greg was using on the Williams? It wasn't semi-glued to the strings, he was really whipping that baby around, more like a dobro player or some sacred steel players. _________________ Mark |

reminds me a lot of how Jerry Douglas sounds on overdriven lap steel.
Lots of blues licks right there.
Liked it.
Nobody says anything about the bar he is using? Pretty sure it's a Diamond glass slide. I have one just like that. |

Maybe one of Loni's bars?
