I have noticed that there have been a lot of positive comments on the Roland Cube 80XL. Has anyone tried the Roland GA-212 for pedal steel? I am contemplating trying either a Fender Mustang IV v.2 or the Roland GA-212. I have always played Peavey amps and would like to venture out.
Thanks,
Rick |

Probably would be a nice sound, but I'll pass at 70 lbs... _________________ Amateur Radio Operator NA4IT (Extra)

I may, in fact, be nuts. However, I am screwed onto the right bolt... Jesus! |

A short time ago I purchased a Roland GA-112 from MF on their stupid deal of the day for $299...big mistake for me. I really couldn't get a lot of volume out of it on a clean setting - and it wasn't just me - I researched it some more after I had bought it (kinda late then) and found at least one other w the same problem. I'm not sure about the 212, but try to play through one if you can. I ended up exchanging the 112 for the Mustang IV and there's no turning back now! I really like the Fender.
Good luck,
Steve |

Steve,
Thanks for the input on the GA-112. Based on your experience on the GA-112, and the positive remarks from you and others regarding the Fender Mustang IV, I am leaning toward purchasing the Fender. The Fender is about $200 less and about 1/3 lighter. Those are two more good reasons to go with the Fender, in addition to having a greater variety of settings. |
