I submit this item simply to show that with minimum equipment and a little expert assistance, one can hope to achieve a reasonably listenable work product.
It's done on an old seven string Rickenbacher Bakelite by way of an old FENDER Pro-Junior and a Holy Grail Reverb unit, Spanish Guitar strings, two Dunlop finger picks and a Golden Gate thumb pick with a bullet nose bar.

Excellent touch and tone Ray!
You prove that with a lot of know how and very little equipment you can sound like Jerry Byrd. |

Thanks for the words.........
Had it not been for YOU I would never have realized such a service was available. Additionally, had you not been kind enough to do so, I'd never have figured out how to use it. Your friendship is very much appreciated.
By the way you are one heck of a standard guitar player. Quite impressed by what I heard the other day.
Do you have SKYPE? |

No Skype. I should probably put more energy into getting it working on my Laptop.
I am now thinking of using an Apple thingee called "FaceTime".
If you need any other help you can call anytime. If I can't pickup, I'll call you back.

What did you DO.......... to give this feeble attempt at playing that EXTRA 'punch' that it sorely needed?
Many thanks, as always, to you, my friend. |

I just did it analog because I didn't want to download the Pico's suggested downloader. so after I added a few ukes and a Madeline and fatten the stereo it would have sounded great if I went digital completely.
I was just having some fun with it.
Bo said that makes him want to throw his pedal steal away get out his lap steel and take lessons from you. |

That's great Ray! That's the kind of stuff that got me into steel guitar in the first place. Fantastic Tone! I use the Holy Grail unit as well. If used sparingly, I find the sound remains rich and the reverb itself is very pleasing. We have so many options these days, but nothing beats the "simple" chain of expression, working with what you got. Really good stuff, Ray. |

"A word of encouragement for other newbies"
I would hardly have thought of Ray as ever having been a "newby", and certainly not after all those decades of great playing.
Another great performance from the Skipper. |

Apparently my phone doesn't support system to play it, so until I get on the desktop I can't actually play it... but I know if it's from you Ray is Top notch. I love a man who can do a lot more with a lot less. _________________ A.K.A Chappy. |
