| Does anyone know any relaxing music , new age music or tranquil meditation music for the steel guitar? Hank is getting old don't ya think. Country music was cool but the songs have been played a million times and im betting some of you steelers are thinking the same thing . Im an old beginner at the steel 2 years in so far and im doing ok could be better but doing the best I can , I always did like relaxing music and think it might just sound great on the steel, just looking for a new direction to go in , maybe a new tuning on my 10 string too , any comments are welcome , some diehards might wanna cut my strings off but realistically there has to be something else besides the same ole same ole crying in your beer stuff. Pandora s box is open . |

How 'bout some Hawaiian music to change it up? It's not new age but... tranquil? relaxing? Picture yourself on that beach.... You can get a lot of those sounds on E9 or C6. Just sayin'... |

But, to answer your rhetorical question: no, Hank never gets old, and, no, there is nothing better than old crying in your beer songs. |

Dan , Hank is old buddy but he is still cool  I never heard of japancakes , very interesting music , thank you for pointing them out to me , maybe im searching for a sound in my head that's impossible to find, kaphan is very nice especially Clouds. |

Chas Smith also has several albums of what I'd consider to be New Age "ambient" music.
Also, BJ Cole from the UK has several good albums of non-trad steel guitar. Worth listening to.
