Ca. 1925 Weissenborn Style 2 all koa. Solid condition, no cracks. (I can't recall even a reglued brace.) Shellac finish has crystallized some and is worn from honest playing wear. (1927 is a ballpark estimate of the use of lacquer (especially for Martin), so this is earlier. I got this with one strip of tuning gears damaged. I tried putting on another old strip but that didn't work out (string hole height in tuner shafts?), so I went back to the Asian ones shown. (They work great, even if they don't look vintage. StewMac sells vintage repros.)
Great-sounding solid gem. Asian ca. 70s hard-shell case. $2200 + shipping + PayPal. More pics to come. _________________ "Gopher, Everett?" |
