Found these cuts from her 2000 CD "This Time Around". Sounds like Buddy Emmons to me. Can't find this CD anywhere. I'd like to have a copy or MP3's. Anyone?

I don't know where to find this record, or if that is Buddy Emmons on steel, but those cuts are fantastic! Thanks for posting.

That sounds just like Mike Cass to me...and Gregg Galbraith on electric gtr...I'm a huge fan of both those cats!

I wouldn't have a hard time believing it was Mike. He's a great player, and really knows the Emmons style and tone. I wonder if this might have been done on the ex-Emmons rosewood EMCI he had? I'd love to hear the rest of the record.

Im flattered, truly.....but nope, Big E all the way. Im good, but I aint THAT good. For sure 'ol Greg though on the electric take off guitar. And I seem to remember that it was around this time that Buddy was just using a thumbpick and no fingerpicks. Probably cut all that on his MCI or EMCI.

read above, it wasn't me, Chris....but yeah, Big E shows us once again why he IS and probably always will be The Worlds Foremost Steel Guitarist.
100 years from now he'll be the one they still talk about, and serious players will still be trying to capture that elusive tone, phrasing and expression which only he can deliver. jmho of course.

Just had to revisit this thread, listening to these songs again. The little delay trick Emmons does at the end of the intro phrase at around.07 seconds on "This Time Around" just totally knocks me out every time. I don't know, little things like that amaze me. Melba's one of the best.
