I have a Kodak Zi8 that I bought because it had a mic input. It works well and is cheap.
I have not used the input as the internal mic works quite well.
Only down side is that it uses MOV files and you must use their Arcsoft editing program.
Has a USB pop out and plugs into your computer, upload to youtube.
These were recorded with it.

I use a Kodak Zi8 also, and Sony Pro. The Kodak Zi8 can be
mounted on a tripod. and does 16:9 HD videos. You can use
a stereo mike like a Sony with it and the sound is fantastic. Very Happy
Kodak quit making them but you may find one. Check Google.
You will find a lot of these on Ebay, but don't pay over $150.
These sold new for $179-$200. You can get ripped off on Ebay.
Here's a clip from mine. The video is not that great because I
had to reduce the file size to 10% to post it on YouTube.
