I absolutely LOVE my handmade FYD Custom Town and Country amp. See Dan Lurie FYD amps.
This custom (oversize OT) amp can use 6SL7 or 6SN7 octal preamp tubes, and a variety of Power tubes including 6L6, 6550, KT88, and KT120s.
I've been running the awesome KT120s for a few months and I really like what they bring to the table: Huge slammin bass, great mids, sweet highs, very big soundstage, plenty of clean but tube-a-licious power...its all good.
If I want to change up the nature of the output section, I can just switch tubes, do a quick and easy re-bias, and now its something a little different. Great to have that option.
Fantastic. _________________ Steel Guitar Services:

I just got two Telonics cabs with the Telonics Neo 15's and used in conjunction with the my FYD Dan Lurie tube amp last Saturday night I got the best tone I've ever heard out of my playing, so much so that in the middle of our last set I stopped the band leader in between songs and told him that if ever you wanted to know what the best sound I would ever be capable of getting to take notice right at that moment. These amps are superb right along with the new Telonics speakers and cabinet. In full disclosure I do use the Benado PF Steel Dream and with my 73' Emmons PP. FYI and IMHO. I do concur John!! |
