I recently picked up a Dekley D-10 (signed by Buddy Emmons) and wanted to find out if anyone knew anything about Dekleys. I can't find any info on the company, production, etc. and have noticed that not many players on this site (if any) play them. Any info would help.
Thanks,
BP

Do a Forum search for Dekley and you will find a lot of info. I helped design them and was the plant manager before moving to Texas in 1980, so let me know if you have any other questions.

BTW, I'll be playing at Pearls this Saturday (11/Cool. Come on over and we'll talk.

Brinton,
I play a Dekley D-10 left handed model I bought a few months ago. So far I love it, and it is as solid as they come. The Company is out of business, but Jim knows all there is to know about the company, and guitars.
There are several Dekley players on the forum. The only complaint I would have is the weight in the case is 92 lbs. Enough to dislocate my back, but I would not trade it.
I believe they also made banjos for a time?
Good luck,
Lefty

If that Dekley is blue it may be the one I owned and had Buddy autograph when I was in Buddy's week-long C6 course at Jeffran College in '80 or '81.

John,
What a coincedence! Hey I was asking Jim about this earlier (and I'll send you an e-mail). I'm getting a little hum from the E9th pickup - something with the grounding. I also am not getting a really great response from the tone control on the C6th neck. Any suggestions?
Thanks to everyone,
Brinton
