If you mean "install" instead of "download", try installing it in a compatibility mode.
RIGHT click on the installation icon for BIAB and then LEFT click Properties and then the Compatibility Tab. Select Vista or Windows 7 and see if it will install. If not, try XP compatibility. |

I read about Win 8 that said the apps must be used from microsoft specifically for windows 8 from their website.
For this reason I bought a laptop having win 7 on it.
It will be interesting if BIAB can be loaded on a win 8 computer, which means of course I am wrong and could have bought win 8. _________________ heavily medicated for your safety |

I'm running BIAB with Windows 8. I hate Windows 8, but I had no problems with it installing or running BIAB. I might suggest you call PG Music. Their technical support is outstanding and they should be able get you up and running quickly.

If you are talking about the "apps" for metro, that is correct. But you can install "programs" in Win 8 just like any other Windows OS. There are a (very) few isolated programs that must be updated for Windows 8.1, otherwise it is no different.
All my recording studio software (e.g. Sonar X3) and hardware installed and works just like it does in Windows 7. I did have to install one device, my Frontier Tranzport in a Vista compatibility mode as the company is no longer in business and has not issued any drivers since Vista. My main recording studio system was down for warranty repair of the motherboard and I used my backup system that has Windows 8.1 installed. "Didn't miss a beat".
I have "Start8" installed on my Win 8 installation and that allows booting to the desktop, just like Windows 7, and restores all the Start Menu features, exactly like Windows 7. |

Are you running version 2012 in Windows 7 in 32 or 64 bit? I'm running Windows 7 in 64 bit and I get an error saying that it won't run in 64 bit. |

I had BIAB 2012 running in Win 7 64 bit OS, without any problems. I recently upgraded to the new version. |

Thanks Bill. Someone else mentioned that too. I did it and like it much better. It's a shame we have to have software to make new versions behave like old versions. I wish we had some software that would make new country records sound like 60's and 70's country, and then we'd be making progress...... or is that backwards? |
