At first I thought it was Jerry Bryd, but then I hear a bunch of things I never hear on JB's records. It doesn't quite sound like Little Roy either.

That is Lil' Roy and I know it from the very beginning of my love for steel guitar...first record I ever bought to see what that sound was !!

It's definitely Little Roy. Little Roy was my first steel guitar hero when I started learning to play steel. Don Helms was my second hero. Both were great steel players.

That's Little Roy. Classic Little Roy licks on that song.

I too started out on steel because of Roy. Bought every Eddy Arnold record (started with 78's then moved to 45's) when I was a kid just to listen to Roy.
