Hi Johnny,
Don't know if you are interested, but I have an Ampeg upright baby bass you might consider, but I didn't know if you are looking for a full size acoustic double bass.
If you are intersted in an Ampeg (and some gear or cash to boot), I could put it in the Telonics truck leaving for the TSGA show Monday.
Please let me know so I can catch the loading of the truck. Of course if you find it's not what you want, no obligation.
PS Love your steel work, keep it up.

Johnny, for the sake of posterity, could you post Curly's C6 coped? I've never seen his, and was under the impression that he was rather secretive about it.
Thanks. _________________ Bringing steel guitar to the bukid of Negros Oriental! |

I am also potentially interested. And also interested to know what the copedent(s) are. If your E-9 is well-known, can you post a link to the copedent? _________________ MCI D-10 (Curly Chalker's last guitar) Curly's C6th on front neck; Johnny Cox’s E13th on back with E9th pedals.

Hey,
(btw- love your playing!)
And thanks so very much for the detailed cpdnt.
I really hate to change the subject. Partly because the cpdnt is SO RADICAL, hard for me to focus on buying the steel.
Now I'm on the topic of:
these 2 copedents!
(has it been publicized previously?- has it been discussed in forum- hate to make everybody re-invent the wheel- I'm a relative newbie)
IT'S FASCINATING AND LOOKS LIKE IT CAN DO VERY COOL THINGS HARMONICALLY, MAYBE MORE (FOR ME) THAN STD. C6.
Mr. Cox, have you played this cpdnt? What's your experience- like? dislike" mixed- some advantages and some disadvantages?
If you want to (or want me to) send this (digression) into the pedal steel topic/thread area, so it doesn't clog up the language of the sale (I realize the setup could be changed, making the Curley cpdnt topic moot), I'm willing. I don't have anything to contribute, but would be real interested to read reactions.
Sorry for the rant! Thanks so much, again. Whoever gets this guitar, btw, gets so much more than a guitar- they get a small part of the memory of one of the absolute greatest. Good luck. _________________ MCI D-10 (Curly Chalker's last guitar) Curly's C6th on front neck; Johnny Cox’s E13th on back with E9th pedals.

Jonathon, I have played this tuning and setup off and on since the late 70's. I like it a lot. I have a 12 string MSA with an extended version of this tuning. I added the G & D on top. For Chalker style it's the way to go.
The E13th is great especially for western swing but can easily be switched to E9th.
You are welcome to pm me for further info. _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox

Stop the presses. Wife is divorcing me anyhow so I may as well console myself with new steel. Just kidding.
I WANT THE STEEL IF IT'S STILL AVAILABLE.
Can you please email or phone me to set up sale? (paypal?)
