I know it's all been said before, but I still have to say it: This is one fine instrument. So many nice design features, of course, but the most noteworthy to me is the sound: Solid, rich, warm; intense or bright when you need it, totally free from microphonics.
It plays easily and with precision; no fighting this instrument. The pedal action is superb, and without any adjustments.
It arrived in perfect tune. That's a relief; I wasn't looking forward to having to learn how to tune the dang thing :-)
And of course it arrived set up exactly as I specified. [This message was edited by David Deratany on 01 November 2003 at 04:03 AM.] |

What color and what pickup, David? I'll own one someday. I have a crowbar trying to pry the money loose from my wallet.

I've got the black twill. It is gorgeous, different. I got one of each pickup (George L. 12-1, and E66.) I figured it was easier to lose the cost of it into the total price now than to dig into my pocket and buy it outright at a later date.
My comments on the sound were with the 12-1. I'm going to play that for a while before I try the other one. |

Oh no, it was $6,000-. If it were $6,000+ I most assuredly would have learned how to tune it first.

Not to worry....Anytime your Millenium goes out of tune, feel free to send it to me, and I will tune it for you, and even send it back all cleaned up !!... My clean and tune turn around time is only 3 months !!....Jim |

I just had occasion to check out the underside. It is so much easier to work with than my older one; so much nicer in design and parts finish and economy. I noticed the additiion of little rubber collars to keep the pull rods snugged up against the bell cranks. So simple, yet effective. I wish I had them on my old one to keep the pull rods in place against the pull fingers. I used springs in a couple of places - very clunky and inelegant. I was planning to remove them in the coming days as part of an effort to revitalize it but didn't have a clue as as to a workaround. Now I do. David, I am so glad that your guitar arrived the way you expected it. Junior Knight and I had the honor to put it together for you, and we trust that you will enjoy many hours of playing on your Millennium. Thanks for choosing MSA Millennium.

David,
Way to go! I have a black/grey twill SU12 M1, that I received in late March.
I am playing the E66 pup thru a Walker Stereo Steel amp, and enjoying every minute. This guitar stays in tune. I practice or play at least two hours every day. It is so easy to play. Just put the bar down and go!
Congrats! |

Ron,
I got one of them thar Walker units, too. What a combo: M1/2 - SS! If there's anything better than that, it sure can't be much better. Gerry's boxed up in matching cabs a pair of Altec 417s, and they're on their way here as we speak. I picked them up on Ebay quite reasonable, for use with guitar, but you know I'm gonna try them with the M2. Maybe all four speakers at once? ....no....I would never do that.....that would be crazy
Band practice tonight. I can't wait. |

Wow. No excuses for sound. Some folks use two different speakers on purpose. Like a BW in one cab and a JBL in the other.
Well you can surround yourself with sound.
How can you have any more fun?
gotta go practice. i am embarassed sometimes with all the fancy gear and can't play a lick.
