Damir, that is a beautiful piece, and its the right color! haha!
It is obvious you have a great appreciation for the classic Emmons look and tone. Is that a push-pull mechanism at work under there, or I guess I should ask, are all your D-10s push-pull?
Thanks,
Dan |

Dan, pix were sent to me by my dear friend Mr.Papic, who makes Promat guitars. Promat makes only push pull guitars, I had few push pull guitars, and in my opinion, they are the best sounding guitars, there is a trade off, of course, they are little heavier, and somewhat complicated to work on it, but they make up for that with their awesome tone, and many players are willing to haul around few more pounds, just to have the best tone possible on the stage...

Thanks for those pics of your steel, Damir. That changer looks wicked! The sound sample on your friend's Promat Home page provides a pretty good indication of some serious tone. Just beautiful stuff. |

thanks guys, I love my guitar, but have to go back to Europe this summer to get it... these guitars have some serious push pull tone, and I mean serious... I will get my maple/mahogany guitar back, and if I can get some cash together I will order another black new D-10 guitar, with the new Promat changers... _________________ www.steelguitarsonline.com |

That's got to be tough leaving your baby behind. I like black guitars, but I also really like the Rosewood and chrome look, together. Your gold tuners set it off really nice! Until you pick her up this summer, what are you using to get by? |

Dan, I don't have any guitars right now, I just moved from Nashville to Hendersonville, and still busy with that. I haven't played out in public for years, so it's not like I need a guitar. I played almost every day for over 20 years, and got little burned out with that, so I'm taking a break, and relaxing. I don't care for new country music, and if I ever find a few old timers who play Buck,Jones and Hag at the local VFW, I may start playing again, until then I'll just hang around the house... _________________ www.steelguitarsonline.com |

Hello everybody!
I just have to say that yesterday I was in Novi Sad to try a new Promat. As usually, when Mr.Papic make new guitar
I am there to try that instrument and gave my opinion.
First of all, pickups on that instrument are manufactured
in Europe /Spain/.Manufacturer is named GB.Sound of that pickups is very interesting, and to be honest,I really don*t see any difference from other steel guitar pickups.
Excellent pickups, with very warm fat sound .
First I try guitar on Nashville 400,and then on Le May
preamp MK-1 with Lexicon 500 in Peavey PX 300.In any
combination you will get a very fine and usefull sound.
It*s all in taste.On E9 Mr.Papic is put a improved
version of changers, and on C6 is standard version.
Pedal action is smooth and fast. You don*t have to fight
with pedals.
Guitar which belongs to my dear friend Damir is also
great instrument /maple-mahagony with gold tuners/.
Few years ago when I try out that instrument I was
very satisfied and with tone and with that classy look.

I hear you, Damir.
I used to play for a living and I didn't touch a six string for 5 years after the last tour. Burnt out. I don't care for any of the newer country music either, but if I could get something together that is classic sounding, I might be swayed to play out again, for fun. But I enjoy making my recordings and playing around the house. I picked up the pedal steel because I love the sound and it's great to be able to enjoy msuic fully again.
All the best,
Dan |

only time I can hear some good country music on radio is when I leave out of Nashville, years ago going down south to Atlanta, I would tuned into some good radio stations with some good country music, last time I took a trip to Pigeon Forge , and on the way there I did have a chance to listen some good music, other than that, there is no country music on radio in Nashville, it is all commercial bubble gum crap... _________________ www.steelguitarsonline.com |
