It's in mint condition and has it's two original cases. A beautiful guitar. The D10s are kinda rare. Many of these later Fender PSGs are missing the string mute. This one has both string mutes. Yes, the price is on the high end, but if I wanted one of these in great condition I'd pay the price. Try finding another one in this shape.

I don't think that's an outrageous price for that specimen at all. Dead mint? There are retro-country bands in CA that guitar would totally fit in.

Like Doug said... GFAO.

Doug, I don't see a description in the add. You say it's mint. Did you see this in person?

I bought a Fender 2000 like that in 1968, I believe, and gave $1300.00 for it brand new. This one looks like it has been well taken care of.

Guitar Center wants to move product.. That steel can probably be had for $1100.. Even at the listed price, Its a fairly good deal as there are very few in that condition.. It looks spectacular... bob

memphislim, no, I haven't seen the guitar in person. I was just going by the picture of the guitar and cases... it looks to be mint cosmetically. We don't know about the underside, but the guitar looks like new, no visible wear at all. A buyer would want to ask about the undercarriage or get some pictures of it. I've bought and sold a lot of Fender PSGs in the past, and in my experience, ones that are well taken care of and show little or no wear on the topside and usually unmolested on the underside. But again, a buyer would want to check on that. I'm sure the 18 year old rockers who work at Guitar Center would be very helpful in that regard! Shocked Cool

And that's how I got to playing psg... You dropped that Fender 1000 off at Blue Note guitars and I found it! That thing still sounds incredible, I'm just too much of a wimp to play it.

Just passin it along. If the steel is as clean as it appears to be (which a potential buyer should confirm before bidding) I think it is a fair price.
I'd be inquiring about it myself if I had the $.

It is a beautiful instrument. I didn't mean to seem all grumpy about it. I was amused by the description "lap steel" which that massive tone monster is about as far away as one can get from that term! I have had a couple of these myself in the past, still have a beautiful sounding [but not looking] 400 that I enjoy playing very much! In today's terms that price isn't bad for a D10, but the buyer must know what you can and cannot do with that setup.

You can do anything at all with it if you add some levers.. Its double raise and lower, they stay in tune for months on end, and if adjusted right are VERY smooth playing.. My last 2 800 s 10's played effortlessly.. Fender was stupid in not adding levers to thee guitars,, That scares a lot of guys off and shouldn't.. They are also very easy to work on once the initial heart failure subsides.. First look underneath induces panic and hysteria.. Once you watch the way it all works, its a piece of cake... bob

Yes, it's very easy to make changes in the pedal pulls. Just slip the hook off the finger and slip it over another finger!
