I'm having "issues" with my vintage 1970's ACE Pac-A-Seat. It has only one latch that holds the seat closed and the screw holes are all wallered out. (Wallered is a technical term.)
I want to replace that one latch with two new ones; however, I don't know what they're called. I was hoping to find some at Lowe's or Home Depot.
So, what are those latches called?

I think you are looking for Draw Latches, I've used them on several case type projects. _________________ Mostly junque with a few knick-knacks that I really can't do without! |

That's it! Thanks, Walter.
I had to wait a whole 6 minutes for an answer! |

One way to fix wallered out holes is to put a couple of cut-off toothpicks in the hole with some glue. Let the glue dry and drill a small pilot hole before replacing the screw. Another way is to drill out the hole to fit a small dowel, and glue the dowel into the hole. Drill a pilot hole in the dowel before putting the screw in. _________________ 1974 Marlen S-12 1968 Tele 1969 Martin D-35H |

You can find the latches at Lowes.. _________________ Amateur Radio Operator NA4IT (Extra)
