This has probably been covered a hundred times but I'm gonna throw it out there again.

1975 MSA, Supersustain pickup originally hard mounted by way of an aluminum bracket to the bridge assembly. The very first day I played it 38 years ago, every sound the pedals, levers, rods, changer, well everything came through that hard mounted pickup. So I took it out, took the bracket off, insulated it with foam rubber and used black tape to put the bracket back on to the pick up was isolated with a shock mount. Worked great.

Jump ahead to 1999. I bought a used GeorgeL pickup. The bracket didn't line up anyway so I used the same method and it worked very well.

Skip to present day. My 15 year old black tape and foam rubber didn't hold up as well as the original so I'm redoing it. Anyone have a better way? I only have until Wednesday to fix it.

Thanks,

B

One pickup maker (I don't recall whether it was Bob H. or Jerry W.) suggested affixing the pickup to the tray with three velcro round dots.
That should provide some acoustic damping

Strong double sided tape can work. There are no mounting screws on the George L and there is no room in the MSA pickup cavity for the mounting tabs. You might need to route out the MSA to fit current pickups. It is a considerable amount of work.

Double sided tape should hold you for quite a while. Somebody else might have a better idea but that is what I would do if I didn't want to get out the power tools.
