Fender

Hello All,

I have a Fender Custom 6 Twin Neck that I am thinking of selling (or putting
down as partial trade on a Pedal Steel) and was hoping you all might be able to
give me some insight into it's value.

It is a 50's in great condition.  There are a few nicks, and slight wear on
the fret board, but nothing major.
It's all original as far as I can tell
and all the electronics work perfectly.  Included also is the original case
which is missing the handle.

It needs a bit of polishing, but there is nothing seriously wrong with
it.  I've seen these go on eBay, but that's often inflated, and I'm not
interested in ripping anyone off.
I have (hopefully) posted a picture below to aid in any
appraisals.  Can you all tell me what you think this guitar is worth?

Click here for a picture in it's case

Thanks!

Jay

Hi

these D-6 are pretty rare as only a few hundreds were made. The Smith book has more info about that subject.

I guess you should be able to get US$ 600-700 for it.

Good luck !

In my opion the best book even written about Fender. " The sound heard around the world"....
on page 287 there's a sales chart. Sales by unit 1951, 6-string double neck : 42, proposed production schedule January-June 1952 : 60.

So your guitar is quite rare. D-8 were ten times more each year. I assume only 200 or so were made of the D-6.

However, to a player a D-8 would be more desireable.

Hey Adam, something tells me your 'appraisal' may be a tad bit biased

Bought one just like it last month with a Fender 185 Amp for $400.00 this was an extremely good deal but I expect the guitar is worth(depending on condition)about $550.00
