I'm pretty internet savvy, but darned if I can find the difference between the National NP-1 and NP-2's. I figure it's gotta be the gauge/weight. Any of you know? |

Nickel silver. I coat mine with clear nail polish. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

I use the NP2's (Nickel Silver) and don't get any "stain" from them. |

Skin chemistry¹ varies from person to person. That will bear on whether the metals will stain or (in some cases) dry and crack the skin.

True, I don't have "sweaty palms". But I had a visitor play my steel right after I changed strings and after he left I had to change strings again as he did have the "sweaty palms" and the strings were (partially) dead. |
