i have a 75 twin the no 6 tube when you tap on it it sounds microphonic and one of the other tubes gets hot to the touchi think it is the 3rd tube or fourth to the leftits either a 7025 or a 12at7 im wondering if i can change these out im going to change the reverb send to a 12au7? i will check tommorrow im wondering what the 7025 are equeal to so i will know what to order. i will probably order from musicians friend any suggestions?

12AX7's and 7025's are interchangeable. If it's making noise, it's bad and needs changing. Sometimes just to make sure, I'll swap tube sockets, with what I suspect is the bad tube, and if it makes noise in the new spot, I'll replace it.

Might be somewhat faster to try tubesandmore.com. They have a good selection plus complete matched sets. JR

switched tubes around microphonics followed tubes no 6 is 7025 no5 is 7025 no4 is 12at7eh no3 is7025 no 2 is12ax7eh no 1 is 12at7eh by sovtek. any suggestions on brand? im gonna change 6 5 and 4. thanks for any help.

I assume you mean your #1 is next to the power tubes and that #6 is by right end of cab, looking in the rear panel. If that's so, then your #2 is the tremolo tube. Take shields off tubes, turn amp on, let warm up. Tap each tube with a pencil or your finger (preamp tubes don't get that hot). You should hear which one is microphonic. When you do, if it's #4 or #6, swap it with your #2. Tremolo tube can be microphonic and you'll never hear it.

FYI: 7025 = 12AX7
