I have a De Armond model 1622 stereo volume pedal. I know this is a dumb question, but what exactly is that? Is it to be used with special effects, more than one amp, etc.? It appears to have two output jacks as well as two input jacks. What makes this pedal different from a standard volume pedal with just one output and input jack?
Any information is greatly appreciated!

It has a double pot inside... so basically it's two VP's mechanically linked. |
What purpose does that serve? _________________ Sho~Bud Super Pro, Peavey Nashville 400

For a regular, mono, steel, it serves no purpose.
For the stereo keyboard that VP is made for, it keeps the two channels separate all the way to a double amp/speaker setup. |

Just to add ... that I have been playing around with using the second in/out on a dual-pot VP to gradually mix in effect units when I lower volume on the VP.
Takes a little more than to "just plug it in" to make a dual-pot VP work that way though. Knowing how the VP and all units work, and being able to handle a soldering iron, sure helps.
Also helps if the dual-pot VP has pots in the 50K range instead of the 500K pots most PSG VPs have installed. The keyboard VPs I have seen, and used, did all have pots in/near 50Kohm. |
