3 questions:

What size of cardboard box will a JBL D-130 fit in & where can you buy the box???

As far as storing speakers is concerned, should they be stored face down or face up???

I have some D-130s that are laying loose & taking up too much space in my closet Sad

Thanks!!!

Casey

I get boxes from music stores that replace speakers.

In lieu of that, get a sheet of plywood cut to the footprint of a shipping box. Attach the speaker to the plywood. That protects the front.

From heavy cardboard, cut a rectangular strip that you can form into a circle -- like a fence -- around the back of the speaker. The rectangle will beed to be about 48" long. Make another that is smaller that fits around the magnet but is the same height as the big circumference protector. They protect the back.

Sheet styrofoam all round is the final precaution -- use whatever fills the box.

I have a number of D130s in storage. I store them on their sides and rotate them whenever I think of it.

Lane,

I am in Wichita.

I'm just trying to figure out what size of box people usually ship these things in. I have several D-130s just sitting loose in my closet...I need to figure out a way to protect them & stack them up to cut down on all of the real estate that they are taking up.
