This makes two broken strings since 2009. Guess I'd better sell it. LOL I was really into a song when it broke. Scared the crap out of me plus wounding me. Ha

OMG! You have one of the EVIL Ritts! You must dispose of it quickly to avoid further bad karma!
I happen to run the only Ritt Disposal Facility in North America, Just send it to me and I'll see to it it gets what it deserves. And there's no charge for the service...it's a community service, ya know. _________________ Best regards,

Hey Bill, that Ritt's got a real bite to it, hardy har! Funny you should post this. I broke a 3rd string on mine night before last, and it is only the second string that has broken on my Ritt since Gary delivered it to me in 2008. Not bad, I'd say!
Unlike you, I wounded my finger when taking the string loose from the machine head. It was my fault though, certainly not the guitars. Get Well Soon, Bill, and get to pickin' that Ritt again. I'm sure ObongoCare will take care of this wound for you!!! |

Re. Bill if you can post a picture maybe some steel picker will be able to figure out which string you broke. Tracy |

I learned not to put my head over the neck like some do. That could put an eye out. It amazes me that as much stretching there is, there isn't more breakage. _________________ Custom Rittenberry SD10

Donny, your good it was a .012. I had ran out of .011s so I put a .012 on there. As long as I've owned it I have never broke an 011. _________________ Custom Rittenberry SD10

Bill, I don't know what to say about the string. I have two Rittenberry's and I have broke two strings in three years. For me, I guess that I usually change every 6 months, maybe I'll start changing every four months then they will last a bit longer.
What do you think about that!!
It could be the GHS strings...........

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I think two strings since 2009 is unbelievable. I love my Rittenberry. Tommy, maybe every two months then they should six ????LOL. As long as they sound good I leave em on. But I don't get to play out much, although I do play at least an hour every day here at home. If I'm lucky enough to do a show or play a gig then I'll change em. BTW nice looking RITT. _________________ Custom Rittenberry SD10

It happened to me too, on Saturday.
A thud kind of sound of string bursting, followed by fingers getting whipped.
Should we wear safety goggles??
