Very nice steel by Asher. Just a shame one can't get the Lollar Horseshoe pup any longer.

Mike D.....I can't find the post, Andy probably can......but long-story way short.....Rickenbacker has sued Jason Lollar over the manufacture of his horse-shoe pups saying that it's a patent violation or some crap like that.

Basically, a cease-and-desist order via the court.

I found the thread... http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=247431

Old news. If you need one give him a call.

Edit: I just saw that the vid was posted this year so maybe Ric has reared it's ugly head again. Hope not, I've built several guitars with them over the last couple years and that would be a real shame to not have them available just because Ric is owned and run by a bunch of useless a-holes... Sad

Bill sure makes some beauties!

I like the middle position with the pickups blended the best.

Here's another demo with Lollar's new Teisco-style Gold Foil pickup ...

As fate would have it, I turned out to be more of a Fendery person, but I started playing Gibsons in the manger and to this day I think the four-knob setup is a great way to get the most out of a guitar with 2 pickups. When you turn one up and the other down the lesser one starts acting as an inductor* to the louder one, and all sorts of strange stuff happens. Cap'n Duane can explain the whole thing best, as on his solo on the Fillmore "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed." Or ask Jimmy Page, it's all there in the live stuff.
