RIP SMOKEY SMITH . maurie goode sadly advised me today, 2/3/2014, that our friend 'Smokey Donald Smith' has gone on tour to the Heavens. Artist and promoter extraordinaire, about anyone related to the country music business knew and respected him. Thousands of folks and fans have enjoyed his bus tours. Smokey will never be alone. obituary, des moines [iowa] register probably soon. ♫ stay tuned, kennyx

yes, believe, smokey's book is still available

raised in Lawrence, Kansas, featured with his many bands from Kalifornia to kalamazoo as well as kuzzin lyle newman's group for years.

Thanks Ken for letting us know. He was one of the best at promoting and preforming in The state of Iowa.I'm sure there are many who he helped get started in Country Music that will miss him. RIP Smokey.
