Does anyone know the story behind the Nameless Shuffle? I understand that Buddy said he would not perform it live again. Is that correct? Of course if he does not perform anymore he would not be playing it anyway.
It is one of my all time favorite songs that Buddy plays. |

| I do believe that Laney Hicks wrote some words for it and performed the Song with Buddy at the 08 or 09 show Buddies last appearance. |

| Slight correction to Brett; Laney did sing this with Buddy at the ISGC but not in 2009 since I was there but Buddy was not. The DVD of the whole production, entitled "OPERATION RUSSLESS" is dated 2006 & I wasn't there for that show, unfortunately!! |

| Jim you are right. I was at the 2006 show and did not return until Russ was inducted in 2011. I had to go out in the garage to look at my badges. Boy does time fly by. |

| Prior to the DVD recording of "OPERATION RUSSLESS" at Scotty's Convention in 2006, Laney Hicks had written the lyrics to the melody, "A Love Like This/Nameless Shuffle," which was written by Buddy. However, she first recorded this tune on a CD in Feb. of 2006 with Lloyd Green on steel. There were ten other tunes Laney sang on both the CD and the DVD, using ten other steel players. |
