I have a 2005 Carter D-10 8&5 all-wood premium-build guitar for sale. It's in excellent condition with all natural maple construction, curly maple aprons and Bill Lawrence LXR-16 pick-ups. Pretty standard E9 and C6 set-ups. I'm the original owner and it's been handled with care. I'm asking $2850 plus actual shipping costs. Here are a few pictures:

I'd say it's "extremely pretty", standard E9.

This Steel is indeed a beauty and one that cannot be forgotten. I am thinking this is the Steel that was on display in the Carter booth in St Louis around that build date. I was fortunate to work with John in the Carter booth on and off for a couple of St Louis shows and if I am correct, this beauty was in the booth , on a table not the floor, and attracted all sorts of attention. Eye candy for sure ! Maybe Richard can advise on this...

Although I cannot say with certainty, this body may be from reclaimed maple planks that have been submerged underwater for possibly 100 years ! John was building several Steels with reclaimed lumber at the time and selecting certain pieces for certain guitars.

Whoever acquires this axe gets a beauty that in most likely-hood plays as well as it looks.

Hey Tony, thanks for your note. I don't know the history of the guitar prior to my purchase in 2005. I did special order the guitar to be made in natural maple with curly maple aprons, and delivery did take a while. It is possible that John put it on display prior to sending it up to me. I also don't know if the wood came from reclaimed 100 year old submerged underwater planks, but what a great story! If not true, could be the start of a cool urban legend in any event. Thanks! Very Happy

You are right Tony, This was the guitar that came to the 2005 St Louis show.
I played this guitar at the factory and helped polish, set-up and pack it myself.
John was very picky and only allowed Al and myself to pack and setup the eye candy guitars.
It has a great tone and plays as smooth as any guitar I've ever played.
This is a great price for this piece of eye candy.
Good luck with the sale.
