I got into the driver's seat on this new amp the other day, and I will say IT IS A WINNER!!
And at about 30 lbs, this is a great powerful and lightweight amp. Come to the SWSGA next week in Phoenix, and I am sure you can test drive it for yourself. Dave and the Telonics folks have a winner here for sure!

I had a play through the prototype in the Telonics room at Dallas last year and was most impressed with it ... it was incredibly good

David, these new combo amps are designed to be connected in a Master-Slave configuration.
I'm anxious to find out what happens when you hit a pair of them with their 1,000 watt combined capability. |

Hello Per,
Yes we offer these units (which offer our built-in Telonics reverb and Bro effects) fitted for Euro, NZ and Australian power. There is no extra charge for these versions at this time. They are available from factory stock within 24 hours ARO.
We do not however, have access to Euro versions of 1U size Effects units which can be mounted in place of the Lexicon MX-200 shown in the photographs. If these are desired, users will need to procure their choice of 1U EFX unit locally. These units have full-range SEND and RECEIVE controls in the parallel EFX loop, so they will accurately accommodate the level needs of all currently known EFX units.
We will be transporting Euro, NZ, Aust, etc. units which were ordered in advance, to the Texas show in March for pickup by their new owners.
Others can be shipped from our laboratories in Mesa, Arizona.

I've only played two gigs with the amp and in differing sonic environments. So I'll need awhile to intelligently discuss the amp in a non-technical way, which is the only way I know to do it.
It seems there's an incredible amount of tonal variation available with the pre-amp, and I think the reverb is quite nice and lush. The dobro effect is also pretty nice. The mid-range control is parametric, a la the Peavey 400 design.
The 15" neo speaker really cuts through, and I'm no longer out-gunned when in a non-miked stage situation since the amp delivers 500 watts, so plenty of headroom.
The amp weighs 36 pounds without any outboard rack effects, though there's a space for one should I decide later to add.

Parametric EQs have been around for a long time in the studio/sound world. I never saw one on a guitar amp before Peavey… They usually have an adjustable Q control also for the width of the band your adjusting. They can be kind of finicky if your not sure what your doing… I find that a wider Q is usually more musical sounding even though I'v never measured Peaveys Q, I'm sure Dave has… An interesting thing that Dave expand to me about the new amp is how the High frequency control also adds Presences at some point as you turn it up.. Interesting concept... |

Ryan,
This is a killer amp for non-pedal work.
With the 15" speaker, you can achieve everything from old vintage sound to killer blues and rock.
If you are able to make it to the Texas show in Dallas March 13-16, the non-pedal show room will have several of these amps available on-stage for anyone to use.
Prototypes of this amp have been used at the Texas non-pedal shows for the past several years. |
