Hello,
Can anyone tell me about this guitar? It clearly says Magnatone Lyric on all three necks, but isn't the Lyric a D8 and the Maestro the T8? It doesn't appear to be pieced together at all, and it definately sounds like a Magnatone. Thanks!

Hmmm isn't that interesting. Is it short scale? I'm wondering if those black and chrome volume and tone knobs indicate a late made old style model. From what I understand that style was discontinued in 1955. Whether in the middle of the year or just when ,nobody seems to know. Maybe they just used up what ever materials they had left for the last batch made before they started building the new style. Dating the pots might tell a guy something. Looks like it is in good shape. |

Thanks, Paul. It is a short scale at 22.5 and the serial number is 45053. Im pretty certain is is an early 1950's model, as I used to have a '56 Maestro that had the dark fretboard, toggle switches on each neck, etc. I wish I knew the answer to this mystery |

Perhaps someone just changed out the fretboards somewhere along the line? |

Hello Jack. I considered that too but I think the Maestro has the long scale, whereas the Lyric is short scale. |
