It looks like a possible Gold Tone Paul Beard signature model.
If that's case, then it is not a "Beard" resonator guitar, it is a Gold Tone guitar that was manufactured in China and the instrument was designed by Paul Beard.
As Howard Parker can point out, some, but not all of these guitars are brought into the country from Asia to the Beard facility in Maryland where they are given a setup and final assembly before being released for sale. _________________ Mark

Good call on the headstock Chris. I can't remember either a Beard or a Gold Tone with a slotted headstock, and in the case of Beard, if Paul made them it's been a long time.
Finis, if this is a Beard, do you know if it is it a one-off or some kind of prototype?
There is a brand new model with a slotted headstock, it's the Tut Taylor Model 27. Paul Beard took a pre war Model 27 owned by Tut and did a modern interpretation that came out pretty recently, whereas the guitar Finis is listing is from 2009. _________________ Mark |

The sound holes are spaced Quite far apart,,,?
That,s why I questioned the Call that it was a "Beard"
This is a job for Howard. |

Sorry folks,
Not one of our guitars, nor a Gold Tone.
Cool guitar though.

I've PM'd Bob. Will try to solve this mystery.
h
p.s. Now I'm confused. Who is listing the guitar? At any rate a name or photo from the headstock would be helpful. _________________ Howard Parker

It appears from the photos as if this is an inexpensive Asian made instrument with the headstock covered up by the TSGA 25th Anniversary metal plate. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

My first "Dobro" was an Alcivar,,Asian made.
That wide screenhole spacing made me think of it!
What happened to it you ask?
Pulled a Hendrix and burned it after I removed the hardware. |

Didn't look like one. Uninformed would-be vendor, I suspect.
The value of "celebrity signed" instruments is debatable and variable. |
