There has been discussion on and off about the best shaped pedals for a pedal steel.
My good friend, Bill, has always preferred the shape of the old p/p pedals.
So, with the able assistance of Jerry Roller, he installed p/p pedals on his Legrande II.
They look like this:

That's pretty cool. I would love to have a set of Legrande II pedals about an inch and half longer to accommodate my size 13 plus feet.

old emmons pedals are quite comfy once you're used to the heighth of the 'dome'. my old zum pedals are quite comfy, especially once they've worn in on the edges. |

I've wondered why the pedals on my Stage One are so skinny. |

Hi Erv.
Did Jerry cut the pedal spacing down a bit so they would slide closer together? I believe that's what he must have done so that the pedals rods would be at the same distance at the bottom and the top near the body.
I have that situation now on a SD 10 pp that has wide pedals on a newer body with the closer cross shaft spacing. The rods taper some as they travel up toward the body.
I'm waiting for 3 narrow cast pedals to become available but if that does not happen I will try and move mine closer together.

I believe Bill got the pedals from Jerry and really not sure who cut them down, but yes, they were trimmed down to work on the LeGrande.
If you notice, there are some washers between the pedals to get the spacing right. |

I like the old forged Push Pull pedals better than my LeGrande pedals. I wish someone would market a forged cap to fit over the newer style pedals to mimic the P/P pedal tops. _________________ Emmons D-10, ST-10,LD-10 III, NV-112,Fender Deluxe Reverb. Authorized wholesale dealer musicorp.com! |
