Topic: 1970 PP with George L's and late syle knee levers ? |

How is this possible:- my (1970 serial # 1340D) Emmons PP fatback has George l's fitted from the day it was made ? And how come a 1970 guitar has 1980 model knee levers, and they were fitted when the guitar was built ?

Those aren't Emmons knee levers.
They look something like ZB knee levers.
There are other things under the hood that don't look right, either.

Are you trying to be funny when you said that in 1970 they didn't have back necks?

Erv, the knee levers..FACTORY fitted when the guitar was FIRST assembled,

George L's wasn not making pickups in 1970 either. As a matter of fact the company wasn't even in business yet.

But that's the year the serial number gives. ??
My other Emmons that has a 1970 serial number also, (1415D) has white fretboards and a twin coil on the E9th neck and single on the C6th

that must be the british version. which side is the steering wheel on?
i've got an early 70's d10 with a serial # so high it's off the emmons chart. anybody seen anything like that? i figured it was a replacement end plate after the guitar was damaged. |

I have two D-10 PPs and the serial numbers date them as :- 1970 1340D (January 1970) and 1415D (July ? 1970)
The 1340D is a direct purchase NEW by myself from the factory in 1970, the other one with identical cabinet and endplates, necks keyheads mechanism and cross rods/bell cranks pedals etc was obtained in 1998. I was led to believe it was custom built for a USA based player who subsequently sold it whilst on tour in Ireland.. I'd really like to know the history of this guitar.
Is there any way of tracing who was the original purchaser of this D-10 ? |

Send an email to emmonsguitars@hotmail.com and attach your pics. Ask Ron about the history of the guitar. He might have some info. It´s such a strange setup, I guess they remember that one...
I emailed a couple of times about my guitars and got my questions answered. They seem to have lots going on but they absolutely responded to my emails within some days and were very helpful.
