Visiting this magical part of Planet Earth, where I once used to live. The magic is still there….the colours, sounds, flavors, flora...

Thank you, and great to hear from you, Chuck. You have been posting some lovely tunes, enjoying them. Yes. I am looking forward to Fort Collins later this year, maybe get the chance to do some dueting with you? I will also be going to the Maui festival in April, any chance of you stopping by….?

Beautiful Kay,

Real pretty ocean-infused music. Wow! How is the weather there right now?
Is that a little blue Fender?

I aspire to be half as good as you. I'm SO looking foward to the HSGC in Fort Collins, since that's where I live. But getting to meet and hear folks like you, Kay, will be a highlight.

If anyone wants to know more about Fort Collins, good places to eat, hear live music, places to stay, etc. feel free to drop me a PM.

Lovely composition and track!
How do you get that warm steel sound?

Gentlemen, thanks for the appreciation, much treasured. Yes, I am planning to be at Fort Collins and support Chris Kennison and Chuck Lettes' work, and hope to meet more steel guitarists. The Joliet conventions have always been fun, and FC will take on the baton running, I am sure!

This was recorded a few years ago with a West Coast C6 eight stringer. The warm sound comes from the George L pick-ups. I picked the first part and used palm harmonics in the later part. I like to record with no colors and seldom use effects into the mixer but I do use a plate reverb during mix down. No eq and no compression.

Hope this helps….keep picking!

Kay

PS: Singapore was an absolutely fantastic tropical paradise. I spent fourteen years working there. I will have pics up on FB once I get over the jet lag!
