I must be missing something. I must be seeing some ambidextrous players, ie: listed in both columns.
Was this a mistake, or is it real?

When I stated on Pedal Steel I had no idea there were two different setups.
Mostly just the way we first learned. When I started on Pedal Steel in 69 I had the original Sho-Bud (1 volume) Pedal Steel course that Scotty wrote with Jeff Newman on the cover. The setup in the book was the Emmons for the floor pedals so that is how I learned. If the Day setup would have been in the book that is the way I would have learned.
I've sat in on Steels with the Day setup and after a song or two it was no longer "different". |

| I started with the "Day" set-up because of Jeff Newman. He worked for Sho-Bud at the time and I ordered my D-10 finger-tip through him, and told him that I wanted the same set-up as him because I was new at it. And he said he would have instructional material available soon. I'm so glad it came as the "Day" set-up. Tommy..... |

I've always played Emmons pedal setup with E's on the right...basically, Reece's and Jeff's Universal coped.

I'm an emmons setup player/learner.
I had my e lever on the LKR on my Fessenden , but my Zum came with it on the Rkl and I liked it there so much I'm gonna leave it there.

I was Day setup for about 20 years, just switched to Emmons that's the way they all come now. Got tired of paying for switching setups.

| I started with the Day setup but have been playing Emmons setup for the past 25 years now. It seems to work better although either setup is equally as good. It's about whatever suits you and is more comfortable to play. |

To all of you for your kind complements: I say thank you. I have spent many hours, researching books, magazines, personal contacts, and multiple websites, to build this ongoing list. This is for my education and for anyone that may be interested. This thread is only about the placement order of the A and B pedals. The C pedal has no bearing on this list however I do encourage participation in the Emmons or Day Poll thread. My list is not, and has never meant to be any kind of competition or rivalry. Let us not forget that the name-sake of the Bud Isaacs pedal split were good friends. We should encourage all that play one, two, ten, or no pedals. Life is but a vapor. We have only a few short days on this earth. Live for good and strive for good music.
