Got any favorite little moves that incorporate using BOTH a slant and a pedal or KL simultaneously? Here's a place to share 'em!

The most classic one I know of is what Buddy Emmons did on one of his "The Way to Survive" recordings.
1. Start at the 6th fret picking strings 3 and 5.
2. Slide down two the 3rd fret and as you do, reverse slant. IE, bar at fret 3 on 3rd string and at fret 4 on the 5th string.
3. As your bar slides down there, engage the A pedal.
4. Then as you straighten out the bar at the 3rd fret, bring in the B pedal.
This takes one from a V to a V7 to a 1 Chord as a finishing lick on many tunes. And what makes the lick, is one hears a true 7th chord; not just a V chord or a minor chord subsituted for the 7th chord.
Buddy coming up with this lick is just one more thing he brought to us that become standard for many players thereafter.

Just remembered another one. I have seen Lloyd Green do this one as well as countless others.
They raise the 1st string (picking strings 1 and 5) with a knee lever and then slant the bar one fret so as to achieve a whole tone raise.

| Lloyd uses a bunch of them (and I am too green to know what they are, no pun intended!)- when I was at Tom Cassella's shop, we watched a bit of the Bell Cove video (duo of Lloyd and Tommy White), which is a great show. Lloyd is like butter and smooth as silk, and there seem to be a lot of slants along with the pedal work. |

I like this little simple one. In any open position say the 5th fret for instance (open A). Use the A & B pedals to go to the D chord, then slide to the 7th fret E and while there, keep the pedals down and do a forward slant moving the bar to the 10th fret on the 3rd string and the 9th fret on the 5th string. Then reverse the motions. It's a good 4, 5, 1 intro. Have a good 'un........JH

Paul Franklin did a nice bar slant/pedal move in the turn around on Mark Chesnutt's
"Old Country" If I remember correctly, strings 3 & 5, 8th fret open, then slant the bar to the 9th fret on the 5th string and hit the A pedal, and then go to the 10th fret, straight bar and off the A pedal all in one move!!! This is only part of the turnaround. Its one of those that really make the hair on the back of your neck stick straight out!!!
Maybe Paul could get on here and clarify this one a little better. I could have it wrong but I thinks its close
