You can't really argue with the potential value for what he's charging for those things. Makes me wonder what kind of components are under the hood though |

Yes, the price makes it tempting, since my budget is 3 digits and not 4. How bad could it be? |

probably not bad - but what is pictured may not be very useful. You may have to pay extra for a cabinet. I can say for sure that it will be nicer sounding than an amp built onto a printed circuit card, however once you get it into a useful form factor the price may be more than whats listed.
the phrase "you get what you pay for" is never more true than it is when comparing tube amps. The prices always reflect the quality - not just of the components, but also of the construction and look. Most amp builders charge about the same amount for labor, the price is usually set on cost of materials. The better they are, the better the amp is because of how simple the circuits are.
Its like cooking a hamburger - the higher quality meat cooked expertly will cost a lot more and be outrageously delicious, but a big mac will get you full _________________ Milkmansound.com |

I looked over the website and the PRICE is for a bare-bones tube amp head....no cabinet....no speakers. They seem to like to enclose their amps with a metal wire cage ($100-$135) that allows maximum ventilation and so you can see the GLOW of the tubes.
Cabinetry is extra and most of the amps have a bevy of extra-cost options (EFX, etc) at the bottom of the descriptions. However, if you get a combo or separate cab, you are roughly doubling the cost.
Good reviews on site....would like to hear one. |

Bought the Super Twin. Very disappointed and it never sounded like a twin. Paid a lot, had a cab made for the head, bought new tubes and sold it for $400.00 to a punk rocker as I could not live with myself selling it to another steel player. That's my experience but maybe others will disagree. |
