Has anyone worked out Jerry Byrds solo on No tear Drops tonight. Even slowed down I cant the drift of what Jerry is doing. Lee

Have you seen Bobby Black's playing of it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntkl6OY_ctc
There is a lot of talking first, then the music starts at around 5:10.
It doesn't sound exactly like Byrd's solo, but it's sweet.

WHAT TUNING is he playing it in?

Sounds like "A" tuning to me.............

Didn't JB do it C6th/A7th?

Hi Lee,

Try this. Watch the three string "splitters". Jerry got a unique sounding "sizzle" to the odd chord which is evident in his break. It's hard to capture because he used a special string gauge selection
back in those days. Hope this helps
