Thanks, Gary. I will be heading over to the shop Saturday or Sunday and will get it out not later than Monday. I am not living there until my divorce is final.
I will try to get chip kits out twice a week until I get back into my home. Right now I am in an RV park and it is a bit of a drive to the shop from here.
Thanks
Ken |

The kit is the necessary Burr Brown chips for teh mod and includes instructions as well as a drawing of the board layout with chip locations indicated. Very easy mod for most folks, just follow the enclosed directions that are in the kit and you will be OK!
Thanks, Tom |

That info is shipped with kits, Jack. As I am in the midst of a divorce and not living on the property I cannot readily send that info. I only go there with a witness or a police escort twice a week to fill orders.
You can look at the circuit board for Burr Brown chips with a capital. BB on them. The older mod was OPA2604 chips while the newer mod is OPA2134 type chips
Thanks, Ken |

Those are two factory chips, but not part of the chips modded. Other than that I can't make out the lower picture well enough to tell, Jack |

Hi Ken,
I ordered two of the mods last night and have been notified that they have shipped already so thank you very much for the quick shipping.
My question is this... Will I lose my presets in the process? I have a pretty good idea that I will. I had a couple of Cache cards here somewhere but I cannot seem to locate them. I have a couple of presets that I use exclusively that I got from a close friend that no longer picks.
I may just have to go thru each one and write down each effect.
Anyway, thanks again for the quick ship.
Hope things are getting better for you very soon in these difficult times.

Yes you will loose the presets, as you must first re-initialize the new chip to factory settings. Here is an idea. Do one Profex first. Then use a midi cable to transmit the old settings from the other one before you mod it. Then mod #2 and transmit the settings from the freshly loaded one to it.
Also you could save presets to a card first, that would be a lot easier.
To save or load the presets:
-Insert card into Profex card slot with the “metal edge†end down (the metal edge covers the P.C. board connectors on the card), card will snap into place
-Press the GLOBAL button until the following screen appears:
SAVE User>Cart [CART}
Save Load In >EXEC<
-SAVING ALL PROFEX USER SETTINGS TO THE CARD:
-The cursor will be blinking under the letter “S†in SAVE, this indicates that the unit is ready to Save settings to the cache card from Profex user memory. If the cursor is not there, use the LEFT ARROW button on the face of the Profex 2 to move the cursor to this location. Press the Store/Exec button on the face of the Profex 2. If a message come up that says:
“CARTRIDGE WRITE PROTECTEDâ€
then a small switch on the back left edge of the card needs to be toggled. Move the switch on the card to the right and again hit the Store/Exec button. A message will display:
“CARTRIDGE SAVE COMPLETE.â€
Hit the Play button on the face of the Profex 2. You may now toggle up and down through the settings on the Profex 2! (Be sure your cursor is located under the left-most character at this point, move it there using the LEFT ARROW button, on the face of the Profex 2). You have successfully saved your user settings to the cartridge and overwritten any previous information on it.
-LOADING ALL SETTINGS FROM THE CARD TO THE USER MEMORY OF THE PROFEX 2:
-Proceed as above, but move the cursor under the “L†in LOAD (use the RIGHT ARROW button on the face of the Profex 2 to move the cursor to this location. Press the Store/Exec button on the face of the Profex 2. A message will come up that says:
“CARTRIDGE LOAD COMPLETEâ€
Hit the Play button on the face of the Profex 2. You may now toggle up and down through the newly loaded settings on the Profex 2! Be sure your cursor is located under the left-most character at this point, move it there using the LEFT ARROW button, on the face of the Profex 2. You have successfully loaded your cartridge settings to the user memory of the Profex 2 and have overwritten any previous information that was in the user memory of the Profex 2. |

Hi Ken,
Thanks for that. Boy, that was a mouthful. Still can locate my Cache cards unfortunately. If I had one I wouldn't have any worries.
Now, I have to ask if the Midi Cable scenario will work between the Profex 2 & Session 2000? Thats what I ordered the mods for and it's all I have to work with. Dont have two Profexes. I'm thinkin that there are some significant differences between the two units, so it most likely wont be an even swap between the two.
Thanks again
